The Right Components for Your Kitchen

You should consider the traffic in your kitchen when selecting kitchen tiles. More durable kitchen tiles are often thicker.  Bring possible tiles home and check:

  • Whether they coordinate with existing kitchen appliances and kitchen furniture
  • Whether the tiles scratch or puncture easily
  • Whether the tile chips
  • Whether the kitchen tile looks well in various parts of the kitchen since lighting may vary
  • Whether there are any ridges or patterns in the tile which may make it more difficult or easier to keep a clean kitchen
  • Whether the color of the tile will hide or show dirt
  • For kitchen backsplashes or counter tops, consider what you cook and how the tile looks next to kitchen sinks and kitchen appliances
  • For tile backsplashes and counter tops, decide whether you want visible grout if using ceramic tile Before making your final decision, ask the salesman about the maintenance and warranty of the kitchen tile.
